Float Your Boat

When: August 16, 2008 (Saturday)
Where: Milford State Park - South Boat Ramp Area
Who: From ages 7 to 110!
Time: 1:00 PM. All boats must be on-site by 12 PM
Entry Fee: None - It's Free! You'll even be able to enter the state park for free!

The rules are simple, use "only" cardboard and packing and/or duct tape and build a boat.
Your boat "MUST" have front, side and rear walls a mimimum of 12" in height. Remember, YOU MUST
HAVE FRONT, SIDE and REAR WALL OF AT LEAST 12" IN HEIGHT! NO RAFTS - NO RAFTS!
You'll row a short course and just possibly, your team will win.

Winners are determined by a combination of factors; (A) Boat Design and Appeal
(B)Floatability (C) Time to Row Course.

You may use any type of cardboard and duct tape. NO OTHER PRODUCTS ALLOWED. You can use
colored packing and/or duct tape, spraypaint or latex paint to enhance your boat. NO waterbased paint
or paint that will desolve in the water!

A boat can only be used by one team. You CANNOT use the same boat for another team. Each team
"MUST" have their own boat!

Only two persons in a boat and each must wear a life jacket while in the boat. You must provide your
own life jackets, and they must be Coast Guard approved. In case someone forgets to bring one, we will have a few for loaners.

Teams can bring any type of oars.
Each boat must have two persons in the boat. You cannot participate with one person or more than two.

Categories:
First Mate - Age 7-9 with one person in boat over 18.
Skipper - Age 10-12 with one person over 18
Rear-Admiral - Ages 13 - 17 with no person being over 18 in boat.
Admiral - Age 18 and over. Nobody under 18 in boat.
The Top Two Teams in each category will win cash and trophies.
